Attention Broadband users – You might be trapped

Is it posible to hack Broad Band Password ?

Before writing something on this,I would like to say that this is just to demonstrate how insecure the internet broadband connectionis.

If you are reading this,then you probably might be a person who spares pretty much time in internet every day.You might be having a broadband internet connection at your home.Your ‘s might be a limited band width connection say 1 GB,2.5 GB etc which requires extra payment for additional usage. You probably might be limiting your download to keep your band width with in the range

So Just imagine the situation if

1. Some one else can hack your user id and password of your broadband account (Remember most of us use the same common password for all the accounts including e-mails)
2. Somebody else can use your limited bandwidth from their system

This might happen to you if you are unware of the security measures you need to take.I have explained  the security measure you need to take to make your modem secure in another post

So…..Now You might be thinking like, hacking and all can be done by computer genius,not reachable by common internet geeks .So there is a very less chance of getting trapped …

I will tell you guys you are totally mistaken.This can be done very easily.This is possible not due to the extraordinary excellence of the hacker but due to the unawareness of common broadband users .

I will demonstrate you how it is done

Steps

1.Get an Ip Address with Port 80 Open .

You have two options to get the ipaddress.Either you can use online tools to get the ipaddress

Here is an online tool which can check whether the port 80 of an IP is open or not. You can try with random ips with this sites

I suggest you ,download and use some softwares because in softwares , instead of giving a single ip,you can give a range and the softwares will give you the ip ‘s in that range with open ports.

Many softwares are available for this.I suggest

You can get your machines ip address from http://whatismyipaddress.com/ .

If you need your friend s IP address …. No need to explain how to get it right?? Lolz..

Angry IP - Settings

1. Start Angry IP scanner and goto options > ports.

2. Make Ports to scan as 80 ..Click OK

3. Then Take options > options

See the right top panel titled as display. In the display section select “only open ports” and click ok&save.

Now all the configurations are done.The system is ready to search for victims

Find IP Using Angry IP

On the main screen, Fill the IP range on which you want to scan for victims The ip address will be like

Ex :

59.95.2.0 to 59.95.2.255

Note: To select a range,you may find you own IP address and assume a range which includes your IP address

For Ex if your Ip is 59.95.2.12

Then you may use 59.95.2.0 to 59.95.2.255

Click Start â€¦â€¦â€¦ Sit back and see the list of victims â€¦â€¦

Now you are all set to attack them….Copy the ip address and paste it to your browsers address bar

You can see a login window ..This wil be the login section of the modem of the victim

Most probably the User id will be â€œadmin “

Password will be â€œadmin” or â€œpassword”

What follows next is the modem administration panel.

Now its your turn to find out the password from the control panel.If you are familiar with your mdems control panel,then it wont be a big issue….On most modems the user id and password will be there at WAN options . 
Simply search for the “WAN” option and click it.

On the next page you will find the username and password of that user. now right-click on the page and click view source. in Mozilla/Opera This frame -> view frame source

Now in the source code search for this : INPUT TYPE=”PASSWORD”

and the value field of this input element will have the password

if its not there as in case of D-Link DSL 502T ADSL Routers the search for this

input type=”hidden” name=”connection0:pppoe:settings/password” value=”password” id=”uiPostPppoePassword”

and the value field will have the password

And this exposes the weak security of bsnl broadband users…..Surprised???? Yeah we a are browsing in such an unsecure world of internet.
